about
To be honest there is nothing much about me worth knowing. I live in an island, enjoys being a photographer at times and dance like no one else business. Thats all. I can't think what to write for now so it just stays like this. Welcome to the little life of mine and lets try not to get utterly bored, shall we?

We're all mad here

Wednesday, June 29, 2011 @ 6/29/2011 07:32:00 PM

My sister is helping me count down to my birthday. I wonder why. Honestly I dont understand why people make such a big fuss about birthday. Isnt it morbid to celebrate the fact that you are one step closer to Death?

But then again, I think thats only for people who fear it. So a big fuss is in order then...

So anyway, I was thinking if I could have 3 wishes, what will they be? I was telling Chairman LMH the other day that none could top the list since all 3 change according to mood swings.

For now, all 'A's for exams seem to be the top. Losing weight and finding boyfriend takes a later place :D

18 is going to be awesome.

BTW I'm excited to buy my first 4D numbers! Give me 4 numbers most unlikely to strike and I shall buy it! HAHA 0000 what do you think? 1234 is so unorginial.

Also, Zoey promised to take me go drinking! Hmm should I be excited about that? Drink away my sorrows of the horrid of Chem paper, the emptiness...(i mean the paper not me.) NO LAH SIAO! I'm quite sure I end up sleeping at home thats all.

I thought I shall blog one last time before starting on Mathematics. I guess its really one last time I am going to live my life as truly yinglithehuman and not yinglitheonewhomoanaboutschoool. One last time.

This holiday is going to be the last I ever had. Not that the post 'As' arent holidays but they probably going to be more (hmmm how should I phrased it..) hedonistic shall I say? Not like holidays but rather the nonstopcontinuous every single moment I-am-living kind of life.

I will carry a facial expression somewhat similar to the model over here..well clearly just facial expression haha I'm not too sure about neck down and the fringeish shoes :D

Sigh how long more before I can actually breathe so freely... I crave and wonder.

7 days left..
Monday, June 20, 2011 @ 6/20/2011 09:09:00 PM

Alright the last week was a complete blur. I obviously got out of my monk life and things started turning crazy. I was sick, I have 4 nights worth of insomia, celebrated a friend's birthday, had CCA BBQ, family gathering. Nothing could be worse.

I am now left with 7 days. I need to get a Time-Turner.

13 days..
Monday, June 13, 2011 @ 6/13/2011 10:36:00 PM

Well, once again, I'm experiencing 0.5body ache. It always happened whenever I played badminton after a long time. Saturday can be summarised as : draining, cold and sticky.

Exercise in the morning, studied at the afternoon (failed though.. with so many distractions and worries) and gallivanting around town during the evening.

HAHA this post is to say my perspective of what happened on Saturday evening after dinner with 186BF :D

We were debating over the existence of whether there are actually children who cannot study. As in destined to not excel in their academics. Actually, thinking back, I am a little convinced that it might be true....

After a horrid dinner (the food made my tummy burnt... loss of appetite after laughing at 186Bf over random stuff) we searched for yogurt! On our way there I met a random primary school friend!

HAHA actually, I saw the bag first lying on the pillar at Mandarin Gallery and told 186Bf it was quite nice and shiny and wanted to steal it and just then as if the owner heard me, she pops right in front of our eyes. Like literally! And ask us to take a photo with her...

Dont ask me why but my primary school friend then sashayed 5 seconds later joining the owner of the shiny bag and advertising for god-knows-what insist on a photo to get iPad 2.

Everything happened really quickly and the conversation zoomed from 5 seconds of recalling one another to 8 seconds of taking photos.. oh wait, I'm lazy to type shall just quote from 186bf's blog :D

Girl1: Heyy! Do you all want to take a photo with us and stand to win an iPad2! It's very simple!

Girl2: -joins in- Yeah and yo- EH ARE YOU.... I think I know them..... ARE YOU YINGLI

ME: :O Oh! Are you Violet!

Girl2 (violet): Oh yeah hi!!

Me: Where's Valerie?

Violet: Oh over there.... -points-

I deleted the 186bf moments since she did nothing but stood there looking bemused within the 12 seconds so her reactions are negligible.

So tada! In less than 1 min, I have a picture with a long lost not close primary school friend pasted on Facebook for the whole world to see....

HAHA thank goodness my plastic bag of shoes are not in the picture + the picture did not capture how smelly and sticky I am... LOL

After that we discussed about the qualifications of being an Ah Beng and I think my criteria is much much lower than 186Bf! HAHA walking down the streets of Orchard, I already pointed out 2 to her! *cough man in striped shirt, with matching striped bag and matching striped shoes.. *

Faint.

Day 10 and a hal-
Friday, June 10, 2011 @ 6/10/2011 02:33:00 AM

I think if I were to date myself, I wouldnt mind.
Its 2.33am now and I just re-read my blogpost archives,
And fell in love with myself.

Somebody save me, I am not making sense.
Or am I?

I think only my freshly painted magneta nails will know.

day 10.
Thursday, June 9, 2011 @ 6/09/2011 09:10:00 PM

HAHA organic is less tiring if you studied with Chairman LMH :D Then again, that is until she steals your iPhone and type stupid stuff on your facebook profile page. Like cheesy love songs lines.

Haha I love my organic chem mindmap :) So colourful here!

LOL.. Chairman black and white dull notes...

My favourite picture! HAHA see got benzene ring somemore!

Chairman's fries!

In case you are wondering why we got so many photos and why are we not studying but taking pictures, well, here is evidence that we did studied! Or at least I did while Chairman got tired and start playing with my iPhone camera app. She was so amazed and went on a snapping frenzy... Of course I ignored her LOL. All the photos here are taken by her!

I have no idea why I agreed to pose for her in the above picture.. I guess

seeing all the unglam shots she took of me, I finally gave in.

LOL my fav pic again!

Haha ok after a few more hours of studying, it was my turn to be bored so I decided to play too.. After all, both of us are photographers :D HAHA as if.

Chairman's unglam shot.

To be fair, I got unglam shot too!

Ok after many failed attempts, we tried to take a proper one before she left and this is the best! Ok maybe not... I look like ghost and somehow got her chest in the photo LOL! I only realised it now!!

Tada! Chem organic just got so much bearable!

Will you pay $3.90 for water?
Monday, June 6, 2011 @ 6/06/2011 06:00:00 PM

To begin this post, I must clarify first that I'm neither a fan or anti-fan of Joanne Peh. In fact, I hardly know much of any Mediacorp artistes since I never really watched a complete Channel 8 drama since "荷兰村"ended.

So when this article came up, I dismissed it without a thought, only to hear my mum debating about it over dinner time with my dad. LOL. Within a few minutes, I got tied into the discussion (why can't I ever eat in peace..) and I totally agreed with my mum at first, its really the restaurant at fault, but my dad do make some sense. Now, I am not so sure of what is what myself.

I know Joanne Peh claimed that it wasn't about the price of the water but rather the attitude/service of the Nando restaurant as a whole but it still strikes me as that was the ultimate tipping point for her - to get pissed, tweet about it and all...

So anyway, in a first look, here are the main reasons why I think Peh is right to get mad:

  1. $3.90 for water sounds ridiculous, since its not branded or anything. I wouldn't mind paying $5.90 for Coke in a posh place (in fact I did!) but for normal water (not Perrier not Evian) its a little overpriced, taking into account the location...

  2. She ordered food as well. For a decent drink to come along, how hard can it be?

  3. The cost of bottled water = $1.80 so why the large difference when its hot?

  4. Waiting time for food too long, waiting time for water equally long. LOL. No doubt get angry lah.

  5. People clapped at her when she stormed out. What a sarcastic insult.
However, thinking about it rationally, I came to the following conclusions that:

  1. Weighing this economically, its not hard to understand why. Some restaurants simply don't serve hot water. The extra cost of having it is just not worth it. In Shangri-La, I heard if you request for hot water, it comes with kettle and all. Shows how pretty troublesome it is.

  2. If hot water is not in the menu, it is just not in it. The restaurant reserved the rights to not serve I believe. Whether you ordered food is negligible.

  3. This is one I admit, is rather absurd. But I guess once again like point 1. - its the trouble of heating it up and extra services I guessed. Asking for hot water is like a special request already and the fact that the restaurant obliged, one should be thankful not thick-skinned.

  4. I ate at brotezit twice and waited 30mins each time for my baked rice. Mind you, the restaurant was empty too! My theory is this: If the food is really good, it is worth the wait :D.

  5. Should be misunderstanding lah. Where got such bizarre thing happening one?

Ultimately, I don't think that the customers is always right. Looks like a hungry Joanne is indeed an angry one.

Day 5.
Friday, June 3, 2011 @ 6/03/2011 05:26:00 PM

Screw the new shoes! Its giving me bloody blisters at the back of my feet even with plasters pasted as the back of it.

Unable to walk naturally now... for the sake of beauty. WTF I cannot stand the pain! Not to mention it totally hinders my morning+evening runs now! ROAR! Feel like swearing!

On another note, a friend of mine, Claire, loaned me a book!

Yep, no doubt its the Life of Pi.

If you havent heard of this book, it was really popular a few years back but to be honest, it did not interest me, I thought it was another one-hit book that will surely fade away against time.

Even until now, reading the first 40 pages of the book, I stand firm to my point. Yes, there are clever jokes, the protaganist do have an unique perspective to capture the reader's attention but for how long, I must read on to find out.

This book is going be my longest book yet because I only plan to read when I'm traveling... Not my style at all but c'mon its not like I got a choice. Remember? Study, run, meditate. Study, run, meditate. Study, run, meditate. Study, run, meditate.

Day 3.
Wednesday, June 1, 2011 @ 6/01/2011 02:54:00 PM

I survived 2 days of monk life!! I swear I can feel my muscle tightening at the back of my legs! How much is my brain developed I do not know...

But the rain has come! So running has been on halt for today.

Since not much can happen when one is studying/exercising, there isnt much to blog about. BUT a week ago, I did indulge in a teensy bit of SHOPPING! afterall, who can resist the Great Singapore Sale?

Brought 1 new pair of shoes, a dress and a peach-coloured shorts!

HEHE very proud of my new outfit :D cant wait to wear them! I bet Darling Partner will be the first to see them since meeting her to study gives me an opportunity to dress up! LOL I must be mad, to look forward to studying just because of new clothes....

Should I get another toga dress (no chance to wear though but I'm totally in love with the colour ) along with a jeans shorts?

Oh and I need a haircut :))
