To be honest there is nothing much about me worth knowing. I live in an island, enjoys being a photographer at times and dance like no one else business. Thats all. I can't think what to write for now so it just stays like this. Welcome to the little life of mine and lets try not to get utterly bored, shall we?

ECONS: OMG I pray harder here! And to think I actually studied quite hard! ROAR! stupid market failure! You failure!

MATHS: Forget it. I give up hope on praying. Just hoping I wont be suicidal when I get my results.

Friday, June 25, 2010 @ 6/25/2010 11:45:00 AM

In a flash, it has been half the year already. 2010 is midway. But its crawling too slowly for me! I want it to end quickly! Can you believe seventeen is coming for me!! ROAR! I feel old.

Ok the whole point of this post is not to remind you guys of my birthday ( LOL although you should be! ) it's about how things sometimes progress faster than you realise. Of course, I am impatient! This is never too slow for me! I want this year to end quick! Can't wait to be 18 rather than 17!!

Still, can you believe it? JC life already! So quick! Pretty soon we will be university and before you know it, we will be married, watching Jasmine does some big important changes to our environment in Singapore on TV or something like that.. Then we will tell our people, hey you know that Jasmine Koh yeah she was once the same class as me! And we recall that as if it was just yesterday.

Ok I'm just kidding! She doesn't read this anyway so I can talk crap :D. No pressure.

Who knows what will happen anyway in the future! Because right now I didn't even expect myself to get this far! When I was young 17 always felt like some magical number to me! Like if its the wizarding world right now, I am "of age" already and can learn Apparation! No alright, in a way when I was young I always thought it would take quite sometime before I reach 17 year old and now THAT I AM 17, hmmmm it doesn't feel quite right.

I guess its the rain that's making me blog crap. To be saner at my late part of this post, let me recommend you my new favourite band! Indie too! FWAH I don't know what's wrong with me but I usually don't take a liking to bands so fast unless they really have solid songs and just like that, coincidentally, its ALWAYS the indie bands songs that just naturally draws me to them!

Anyway, recently I've been addicted to

Yep CN BLUE! I only found out recently that 2 of my favourite songs are by them and was like O.o ! Not bad! I think you guys can kind of guess what kind of music I like, very Sodagreen/semi rocker flavour here eh? But they are KOREAN!

And out of so many zillion Korean bands, they unlike the rest, cannot dance! LOL. You know how most korean boy bands simply attract tons of screaming female fans because of their dancing moves? Well this one play instruments for a reason.

Hope they can continue to produce good music! Don't do a F.I.R ( etc come out some hit songs and then the rest of the following songs just sounds like the 1/2 hit songs.. ) Also hopefully dont join the mass by "digitally enhancing" your songs!! You know how Bonamana and Abracadabra sounds like? Yeah that kind! It's nice to hear once in awhile such music but there's too many now in the market (due to Lady Gaga fever I guess its like her voice in Bad Romance that scratchy, electronic kind) and it sounds well, abit indian-like if you keep repeating it... REALLY! You go listen more and you will agree with me!

And urgh! Have you guys heard the song that has "get down down down ohh oh oh" something like that? ITs no doubt Show Luo I bet!?!?I'm not too sure yet but I think so and guess what? Its on Yes 933 charts! Faint.WHY?!?! 精舞門 was traumautising already.

Sunday, June 20, 2010 @ 6/20/2010 11:08:00 PM

I am feeling disgruntled and irritated these days. This is caused by a number of incidents which has no link to one another whatsoever but played a part in accumulating my agitation.

First of all, the first incident that make me quite O.O is something I had blogged about 4 years ago and now its back again! YES! The WORLD CUP 2010! ROAR! My upstairs neighbours are quite crazy over it! I am quite sure they are Germans because they were singing their national anthem in the middle of night. Fwah! Luckily now its the holidays (weird occurrences at night is still bearable) but during my examinations week, it is going to be hell... During the last World Cup one of the finals happened during the night of my Geography Exam and I could hear " OLEH OLEH OLEH x1000" playing again and again at 3 am...

Second =.= incident: THE MISSING NEWS!

Here's how this goes... the newspaper man who distribute our newspapers daily has changed! I am quite sure of that because previously the old newspaper man is SUPER EFFICIENT but this new one is COMPLETELY THE OPPOSITE!

Okay this happened to me after camp for the second week of June Hols. I was really looking forward to reading all the newspapers (The Straits Times, Today, My Paper) since I skipped it for 4 days and it felt kind of odd so I WAS ANTICIPATING it...BUT IT TURNED OUT that the next day, our newspapers miraculously disappeared!? ROAR! Either there is a newspaper thief or it is the effect of the inefficiency of the newspaper man! And the next day with special edition ( Urban on Fridays) was not delivered too!! WHAT IS THIS! I was quite :O I wanted to take action but since my mum said it was too troublesome we decided to let it go ( kana cheated of 2 days worth of news- yes im nitpicking...)

For a while, things returned back to normal but at the next week, guess what? MULTIPLE COPIES OF THE SAME NEWSPAPERS WERE DUMPED ALL ON OUR DOORSTEP!

Gasp! Imagine the absurdity of the situation....5 thick copies of the same 16th June Today Newspapers stacked up along with usual subscription of The Straits Times?!?! I totally suspect they threw whatever extra copies left on our doorstep since we were like easy targets! Well, thinking back now, it was quite hilarious when I open my door in the morning to get the newspapers excited to find a decent thick pile of news which turns out to be the same kind...=.= oh well, at least there were extras.... But still! WHAT ABOUT THE MISSING ONES?!

Lastly, the 3rd incident is my epiphany- during one of these days recently when I FEEL THAT I AM UNDER-APPRECIATED/ NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY BY 99% of MY FRIENDS :(

I am saying this really really seriously now to take me seriously! Serious! I am a serious person!

Ok I doubt its working. Still, a couple of incidents led me to feel shock that my friends felt GENUINE shock when I turn out to be remarkable/right in certain ways! ( Ego explosion here MUHAHAHAHA) there were too many instance to tell but hey can you guys at least trust me more?!!? I am a trustworthy person :))

Sigh, this is getting no where... maybe I am partly to blame too, you know for giving people the impression that I am not trustworthy...okay I shall posed a more solemn face when talking now, aka: talk slower, look serious, dress serious be serious... so that people dont treat me like a joke! HAHA :D (PIAK! WAKE UP YINGLI you been trying to do that since Sec2!)

CLIQUEOUTING!
Saturday, June 19, 2010 @ 6/19/2010 09:30:00 PM

Ok so I admit, I've been really lazy these days. And I meant really lazy. Often signs like :

- Not doing homework
- Not studying
- Not blogging
- Not exercising
- Not going out
- Not even bothering to bath for A day...
- Not brushing teeth properly....

Ever since returning back from camp, I have a HIDEOUS pimple outbreak + break down of built-in clock in my body which is the main cause of all the above mentioned laziness I felt this week.

Basically I spent most of my time:

1. Re-reading old books

2. Waking up and sleeping during the oddest moments.

3. Watching random videos.

So the only productive thing that happened so far this week was my outing with THE CLIQUE!

Yehchi planned it all and I was really impressed! ( Ok, kinda.. she should have some credit) I realise we could all still chat like old times which is really good :D ! HAHAHA Yehchi and Belinda really compliment one another. One blabs and the other agree readily.... BEST SILLY COUPLE AWARD GOES TO THEM :D

HAHAHA it was super funny to see it all over again!! ( I doubt yehchi reads my blog anyway so it should be okay to put it like this here... hehe but if you are I LOVE YOU!! MWAKS I am complimenting you hor! ) She just has this imagination so Yeh-ish all the time! And the funniest thing is that Belinda at times just follows! LIKE FWAH!

(Yeh Chi in her element..Classic pose. I dont know what is worse in Ester's lousy camera photos...My unglamness or Yeh's unexpected actions... )

Janice and I were the only two fools who overdressed! Like totally. Only we wore dresses while believe it or not the SILLY COUPLE pair wore matching "couple-like" clothes! =.=. Basic until cannot basic anymore. Hangten clothes with shorts/Bermudas.. I dont even know what is that!

(Just by this candid shot, if you don't get what the Yeh-ish feel is, this is totally it! )

I felt so ridiculous standing next to them.. and I actually thought because this outing was planned by YehChi she would hae at least but in some effort to look great BUT NO! she has to turn up like like like that.. instead.

Playing card games at the SkyPark over Vivocity! The weather was PERFECT! The wind blew on my dress exactly the way its suppose to look ( LIKE IN MVS!! ) and if it wasnt for my HIDEOUS pimple I would have shot ALOT of photos of myself. PIAK! Enough about myself. The others were really thankful for the fantastic weather too YehChi admitted there was a teeny weeny flaw in her plan if it raine= Don't know what to do next..

Picture of lovely sky. :)

Picture of lovely clouds :)

Picture of lovely weather.

Picture of lovely sea + undone Universal Studio + weather.

Picture of Random construction plus lovely weather.

Another picture of the lovely sky...

Ok I should stop being idiotic if you are interested to see more of this go see ester's album....Plenty of this nonsense..stupid Ester why does she has so many unnecessary weather shots and so few pictures of US? Try guessing the album tittle...GAH...its called clique outing with less than 3% of the pictures consisting of actually human beings..

NEVERMIND >.> I LEARN 2 NEW CARD GAMES!! MUHAHAHAHA so proud of myself! SlapJack and Indian Poker! We played until quite high-at least for me when I started being competitive, the glam level just drop to -10% I was shrieking the entire time because SOME PEOPLE JUST IGNORE ME!! HAHA Belinda especially :P but it was part of the skills required in the game lah..

Anyways if there was an award ceremony to be given for respective couples on THECLIQUE! outing it will go something like this:

*cues Drum Roll*

BEST DRESSED COUPLE: Janice and Me! ( DUH! HAHA)
BEST DUMB COUPLE: YehChi & Belinda ( wins hands down... )
BEST SQUABBLING COUPLE: Esther and ahem Me! (we quarreled nonstop wait correction she quarrel I win :D)
BEST AT LOSING GAMES: Kristy and Ester ( Two words: Slow reflexes!)
BEST TABLE MANNERS: Janice and Kristy. ( They talk and eat at the same time and still look decent! )
.
.
.
.
.
Aren't you happy award winners?! HEHE although I cant say so for the losers aka Kristy and Ester had to risk their pride and do a dare.

AND YOU KNOW WHAT WAS THE BEST IRONIC PART? Initially the dare was planned out by one of the losers not expecting herself to lose but in a sudden twist of events *cues action music* A CHANGE OF FATE! Ester plotted against Kristy suggesting that losers for the games must take a photo with random good looking (optional) guy and post on Facebook!

Oops! I forgot to add on Blogger too! MUHAHAHAHAA LOSERS! SUPER SUPER SUPER Funny the way they carried out the dare! Janice, Me, Belinda and YehChi really laughed like mad while watching on the side lines!! MUHAHAHA! I can only feel for the losers...really deserve my sympathy...truly pathetic losers hahahaa.
Anyway inside joke here to all the desperate people or just mainly Ester and Kristy: There is always the music guy! HA!
But I must say, the two losers really did know how to keep us, the viewers, on our toes... their target turned out not to be anyone we predicted or discussed at first!! Plot twist! I love it! Although rejection was pretty funny too initially! OK! Enough laughter at their expense! This post sounds pretty mocking but hey at least I blogged! My last for this month I think... :(
P.S Shimin!!! I MISS YOU! Got some super weird dream of you and my primary school friends along with Esther Lee Mei Hui..actually it was more of a nightmare because we were escaping from terrorists.. I suspect the dreams are making me tired even with sufficient hours of sleep.

BIA- back in action!
Saturday, June 12, 2010 @ 6/12/2010 01:28:00 PM

To all who missed me like crazy, I am back!

AND ALIVE.

Aren't you all proud of me? I survived camp and came home in one piece! (except for the bruises on my ankle as a result of the three legged race tied next to 2 guys with super long legs... but still)

I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY :D

Leadership Training Camp was complete mix of American Reality TV show and the Korean Variety Show-Family Outing hahaha.

Why I said so is because...

In summary, the good parts were exactly like FO during some bits. The morning duties,(yes there are morning duties!) the dynamics/bonds shared with the BEST GROUP EVER ( EXOTHERMIC!) and basically all the activities played very like SURVIVAL kind can! HAHA for someone who is not so adventure-camp inclined, I am surprised I enjoyed it!

THE BAD PART WAS THAT EVERY ACTION TAKEN IS SCRUTINIZED TO THE SMALLEST DETAILS BY THE TEACHERS + SENIORS. YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW SCARY THAT WAS. Every time we played, every tiny thing we say was to be reflected at the end of the day during a super tense session called "reflections" time. It was extremely stressful.

Ok if you watch The Apprentice, its like the period of time when Donald Trump says " you're fired" that kind of scenario. We sit in a circle as our teachers report their "feedback" about us at the end of the day. SUPER tiring + uncomfortable + tense moments. Like Project Runway when you hear the judges give the criticism to the designers. Completely intimidating and it stretches for a few hours.

OTHER THAN THAT....WE ROCK! Hahahaha I LOVE the Amazing Race! And guess what, I'm super proud of myself for the high elements.

I never knew I am able to:

1. Climb a high pole.
2. Place two feet on top of the high pole with nothing to hold.
3. Jump off from the high pole in an attempt to catch the trapeze.

IT IS FRIGHTENING I SWEAR! Looking from the ground up above, when the first guy bravely start first, I already told myself that I am so not doing it. BUT I DID! AND IM SHOCKED! GASP! ( Although I screamed my lungs out when I was up there and leaped off... my stupid group was counting down and I had no choice!! HEHE :D )

Since we did the Pole Challenge first, ( Everyone swore it was the hardest among the 3 ) the later height elements didn't really have much of the strong impact on me... flying fox was bearable and so was the the high elements obstacle course...

HAHA the Amazing Race was fun but yet at times frustrating... we got held up at the West Coast Park Challenge.. if you know there is this gigantic pyramid there made out of ropes for people to climb, WE GOT SUPER STUCK THERE. The challenge was to count the total number of edges + triangles that make out this pyramid.... WTH! like totally WTH! O.O.

Haw Par Villa Challenge was funny :))) and so was the one at YOG Centre opposite Crescent! HAHA I successfully lead my team there OF COURSE.

Anyway, it turned out a bit better than I thought so :))) but honestly, I am more confused about my character than ever before.... stupid personality quizzes... they do nothing to help... We took another set of personality quiz to identify what kind of BIRD you are and mine proves to be contradicting one again. THE HAWK- is what I am identified with.. hmmm... Compeitive and insensitive.. WHERE GOT?! YOU TELL ME .... since when am I the cold unfeeling kind!? ROAR!

Thursday, June 3, 2010 @ 6/03/2010 12:07:00 PM

A close cousin of mine recently told me she pick up smoking. Plus she said it so casually as if she pick up singing.

WTH. In my head I was thinking O.o! But tried to look calm. If I didn't remember wrongly my exact reply was "cool!" and she gave me this weird look and I said: " I am all along fine with people smoking."

Hey I am being honest. Just that I felt a slight twinge in my heart which is probably because she IS MY COUSIN.

Smoking has always been portrayed as something cool. It's in the media. Films, fashion, photography etc. Deep down inside all of us, we are a little sadistic. Okay maybe not all of us but most of us. Of course we all try to repress it-the rational mind says so. Society deems such human nature as evil. Yet it still lives inside us (duh! serial killers?) and smoking somehow brings out that part.

Most people of our generation know smoking is bad and yet we still do it. The initial attraction mixed with curiosity and the ultimate addiction and pleasure. Sounds tempting isn't it?

HAHAHAHA still. I don't like lung cancer. See who is laughing last.

OH! I think that's why I like triads films anyway! I can't smoke but I can see people smoking right??? Its the least I can do! And without sniffing it second hand too!

Which brings me to my next topic and review of MONGA.

(I purposely choose the movie poster with Ethan Ruan as the cover hehehehe he is so friggin cute!! :D )

AHEM! As I mentioned previously...its hard for me not to be biased against/towards male leads in any movie! The last time was rare! Totally fell in love with him when watching 敗犬女王 which I will say later on.. Now for MONGA!

To review it superficially, which means using the stars system to rate a movie, ( I dislike this manner, totally undermines the value but I must admit it is for simplicity sake for people who hates reading.) I give it 2.5 stars out of 5!

First of all, this is done by a relatively unknown director. I never heard of him other than some kind of relation to the film 海角七號. And since my knowledge of directors is considered almost on par with my 40+ mother, ( shows you how much free time I have to familiarise myself with film directors background) this guy-Doze Niu after googling... still appears mysterious.

Anyway I know nuts about his methods of directing but at least because it is typical so nothing worthy to mention of.

Now here comes the plot ah it is acceptable...(under the pretense of a gangster film)... emphasizes on brotherhood, betrayal VS loyalty and at times indulging in artistic shots in the movie (which in my own opinion) serves no purpose at all. Decent acting from all the guys (well at least I know Ethan Ruan was flawless) in the movie.... was quite disturbed by their hairstyle and dressing though.. HOW BENG CAN IT GET?!?!?

Note the guy wearing black...super cannot stand his hairstyle...seemed to be randomly chopped off by inexperienced hairdresser... Not quite sure what was the intended effect for him to pose so to me was a complete failure :D:D (Of course Ethan Ruan being so cute looks good bald anyway! )

Another plus point of the show is capturing the setting in Taiwan. The local flavour is conveyed quite well...along with recent mushrooming of other Taiwan movies... all which I appreciate trying to bring out their own "feel" rather than trying to shape it like Hong Kong/China - their neighbouring countries film industry. This part is quite well-done :D you hear their Hokkien dialect mixed in the conversation, the street scenes of Taiwan framing the movie...not bad :)

I read somewhere in the newspaper too that the gangsters extras in this film are really 小混混 in reality! FWAH! The director has connections! He said since it was budget he managed to engage the help of these people cutting cost :) Wow. So its pretty real I assume?

Now for the parts which I dislike....actually, I think its just my own perception but still! My blog must have my own perceptions mah!

Real as it maybe, I prefer the glamorized + bloody + gory kind of fighting. Seriously! All the fight scenes in this show made me LOL in front of the screen. It was like seeing children in the playground fight. Poor choreography ( I am used seeing the HK kind ) , totally NOT COOL AT ALL! (of course only when Ethan Ruan fight then its cool :)) But anyway! its just really bad.... I don't care if in reality people fight so poorly....its a gangster film for godsake! Its suppose to be visually appealing and slick....the battleS featured in it just felt so laughable. Consisting of lunging from man to man, lousy sucker punches and falling over... OMG... If you read my love for Vengeance- a John Woo directed gangster film... it displays so much more.

Okay you can argue this is Taiwan film! Contradicting myself here.. they were just simply bringing in their own kind of gangsterism but but but I thought that there is an international consensus that all gangster films are meant to be cool! ( of course unless its a parody....) even the French, Italian, Korean, mafia look suave in their blackness and guns!! WTH is Taiwan "gangster" film featuring fighting so childishly?!?! To make the characters more human? You don't tone down the violence! ROAR! And its not exactly violence lorh its heoric bloodshed!! If crafted nicely + polished and refined it adds to character development! Unlike this...which is...i dont even know how to describe it..erm absolute chaos and crude.

Nevertheless the real reason why I find it not completely satisfying is because of the blandness of the plot. Its okay but not great. The idea is there but only just there. I can see better ones in old HK gangster films so there you go. Predictability level here is HIGH!

BUT WATCH IT! Idol power is strong! It is after chasing this idol drama which is why I even take note of Monga hehehe.

For this I give it 3.5 stars!! Instead of the normal kind of stupid story.. whereby poor/abused/desperate Girl A meets super eligible bachelor who is often rich powerful handsome desirable++ and followed by a list of complication.... YET this one is DIFFERENT! Okay abit lah.. there is still love triangleS and happiliy ever after...

Both main characters qualities are quite realistic. Unmarried workaholic and hedonistic young man. Quite believable right? Compared to characters like : F4 and a super long list of idealistic macho guys in idol dramas..

HAHA but an idol drama is still an idol drama. TELL ME HOW CAN PEOPLE WITH 8 YEARS APART BE TOGETHER? ESPECIALLY WHEN THE OLDER ONE IS THE GIRL! Faint hehehe this part here is super =.= 是不可能的事!

But the presence of the 盧卡斯character makes it all so :))) Ethan Ruan acting here is FANTASTIC! *Piak !* must be unbiased... okay to say honestly a great improvement especially from 命中注定我愛你. Yes I admit that 命中注定我愛你 is popular one thus giving us the impression of him but this 敗犬女王 totally make me see that he is quite an actor! Not just an idol! (of course monga just adds on to my point) Extreme qualities portrayed here by his 2 characters and he made them both so well-liked!

In 命中注定我愛你, Ethan Ruan plays 紀存希who falls into the typical male lead in idol dramas... He is egoistical and childish but rich and dashing at the same time ready to sweep the girl off her feet...

Compare to 盧卡斯 fwah! the difference is significant... he is somewhat a more grown up young boy... Caring, hardworking and acts super mature... rather I find the girl O.O for a 33 year old bacherlotte childish. Plus her nose look fake. Where got people nose so sharp one!?

HEHE okay enough rubbish! Shall end my rather long post now!
